About The OPEN DOOR
The Open Door provides licensed, home-based programs for toddlers and preschoolers. We promote the love of learning through a play-and project-based curriculum, with the goal of fostering social, emotional, and academic readiness skills for future school experiences.
Our curriculum is aligned with the elements in The Guidelines for Preschool Learning Experiences, as outlined in the curriculum frameworks for early education. Our classroom approach is modeled on The Creative Curriculum's approach to learning. We nurture and encourage the development of independent, confident learners through the us e of a play-based program with an emphasis on peer interaction and hands-on activities tied to the curriculum.
Our school year is from September-June, and we follow the academic schedule of the Walpole Public Schools. We are able to accomodate flexible schedules, including early arrivals and extended days. Teacher's children are welcome for full-time daycare as space is available. We maintain a small, loving family environment that allows for a natural and comfortable transition from home to school.
For the 2013-2014 school year, we have 2- day openings for 2 and 3 year olds. Toddlers (2.9 and under) meet from 9:00-12:00 and our older 2s and younger 3 year old preschoolers meet from 9:00-1:00. Feel free to call 508-850-6901 for further information and to schedule a private appointment. Thank you!
